Paragon Music is committed to protecting your personal information. We want your interactions with us to be safe and enjoyable. This Privacy Policy relates to our use of any personal information we collect from you via our websites, social media platforms, third party payment, donation and newsletter distribution platforms (ie. Stripe, GoCardless, Justgiving and Mailchimp) and events. It also relates to our use of any personal information you provide to us by email, phone, SMS, by letter or in person.

What information we collect and how we use it

When you use this website

Paragon will not use the personal information collected on this website (e.g. if you sign up for our newsletter, book an event, buy a product or contact us via email) for any purpose other than dealing with the service or information you have requested. If you contact us directly, any information you give us will be treated confidentially and in accordance with the legal provisions concerning data protection. Your continued use of the site confirms your acceptance of our privacy policy and use of cookies.

If you sign up for a service

When you sign up for any of our services we will record specific personal information about you, such as your name and email address. We will also collect and store information about your use of our services so as to improve them.

If you sign up for our E-newsletter

Paragon use Mailchimp to manage our newsletter mailing list. Mailchimp is a US based company but has self-certified to the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield regimes, and lawfully transfers EU/EEA personal data to the U.S. in line with their Privacy Shield Certification. This means they store and use your data in compliance with the Data Protection Act.

If you make an online donation

Paragon use GoCardless to process online donations. GoCardless will have access to your personal and payment information. Paragon do not ever have access to your credit/debit card details. You can view GoCardless comprehensive privacy policy here.

If you make an online payment

Paragon use Stripe to process credit/debit cards and accept payment via Stripe for our shop transactions. Stripe will have access to your personal and payment information. When paying by credit or debit card, Paragon do not ever have any access to your card details. You can view Stripe's comprehensive privacy and terms policy here.

Emails

Paragon may send you email notifications regarding your service (such as booking information) or contact you with information which you have specifically requested (such as newsletters). You have the ability to opt out of any of this communication at any time.

We will never provide your personal information or email address to any third parties except where they are specifically employed to help deliver our own services.

Why we collect this and how we will use this information

  • To respond appropriately to any requests for information or services.
  • To send our newsletters only if you have requested this. We will never send you email marketing simply because you have contacted us or donated to us.

Who we share your information with

We will never sell your personal information. We also never share your personal information with other parties for their own marketing purposes. However, we use the third party payment, donation and mailing platforms GoCardless, Stripe and Mailchimp which will share your contact details if you have consented for them to do this. We will never have access to the bank details you disclose to these sites.

Legal basis for processing

The legal basis on which we collect and process your personal data depends on the personal information concerned and the specific context in which we collect it.

However, we will only use your personal information where we:

  • have your consent to do so
  • need the personal information to provide a contracted service with you
  • need to process your personal information for our legitimate interests and only where our legitimate interests are not overridden by your data protection interests or fundamental rights and freedoms
  • have a legal obligation to collect personal information from you (e.g for child and vulnerable adult protection purposes)

International transfer of your information

We will always seek to store your personal information in the UK. However, on some occasions, the information we collect may be transferred to our payment, donation and newsletter mailing campaign platforms who may be based outside of the UK. Where we allow a supplier to process your personal information outside of the UK, we will ensure that we create and maintain appropriate safeguards with our suppliers so that your personal information is subject to the same standards and protections as apply to us when we are processing your personal information in the UK.

How long we keep your information

Paragon only hold on to your personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes for which we collected it.  After that we will either delete it or anonymise it so that it cannot be linked back to you.

Paragon may update this privacy policy from time-to-time, particularly as technology changes. You can always check this page for the latest version. We may also notify you of changes to our privacy policy by email.
